Product: EQUO Bacterya 24 Vials of 5ml - Liquid Biological Activator Features: Liquid biological activator Aquariums are closed environments in which, unlike natural environments such as seas, lakes, and rivers, continuous water exchange is not guaranteed. Inside the aquarium, as in nature, pollutants and toxic substances are produced by the metabolism of the host organisms. These substances must be adequately neutralized so as not to harm the health of fish, plants, and invertebrates. The decomposition of organic nitrogen, such as amino acids present in waste products, rotting organic matter, and food scraps, constitutes a constant source of ammonia through a process called "ammonification." This process is carried out by particular bacteria that, by degrading amino nitrogen, release ammonia. Ammonia molecules thus produced in the aquarium are highly toxic even at low concentrations to host organisms, and therefore, in order not to cause harm, they must undergo two further oxidation reactions by free-living bacteria: • a process called nitrification, in which nitrifying bacteria are distinguished, which transform ammonia into nitrites (NO2); • a process called nitration, in which nitrating bacteria, in turn, oxidize nitrites and contribute to the production of nitrates (NO3). The set of processes described above is known as the "nitrogen cycle". Nitrates in concentrations up to (20 mg/l) are not toxic to organisms kept in aquariums and their concentration can be kept under control by means of regular water changes and/or the use of specific adsorbent substances in the filter. The newly set up aquarium is devoid of the microorganisms (bacteria) necessary to trigger the nitrogen cycle; BACTERYA is a liquid biological activator based on bacteria and enzymes selected to enable the complete nitrogen cycle. BENEFITS - It acts rapidly thanks to the synergistic action of nitrifying bacteria that complete the reaction from ammonia to nitrate; - Thanks to the presence of facultative anaerobic microorganisms, it completes the nitrogen cycle, transforming nitrates into molecular nitrogen (N2); - Accelerates nitrification even with BOD5 values higher than 200 mg O2/l (highly polluted conditions); - By reducing pollution, it inhibits the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms; - 100% effective and easy to use thanks to the disposable vials; - Can be handled without particular precautions as it does not pose a health risk. COMPOSITION Mixture of selected bacterial cultures of Nitrosomonas spp., Nitrobacter spp. and facultative anaerobic Bacillus. DOSAGES: Preparation or after curative treatment: - Freshwater: 1 5ml vial of BACTERYA for every 50 liters of water. - Marine water: 2 5ml vials of BACTERYA for every 50 liters of water. Maintenance or after water changes: Dose weekly. - Freshwater: 1 5ml vial of BACTERYA for up to 1000 liters of water. - Marine water: 1 5ml vial of BACTERYA for up to 500 liters of water. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Shake the vial before use and extract the liquid with the appropriate pipette. Pour the required amount directly into the biological filter. USE To survive and perform their vital functions, bacterial colonies need nourishment (carbohydrates, proteins, etc.). Therefore, especially when setting up a new aquarium, it is recommended to add BACTERYA to freshwater tanks after adding plants, and to marine tanks after adding live rock. To help them do this, you can add a few drops of amino acids or a pinch of food. Contents: 12 - 24 5ml vials. All Équo products are laboratory tested.
